Documenting Trauma-informed Spaces
on a University Campus
a one-week photography activity to document spaces that are trauma-informed on campus and spaces that could benefit from being looked at with a more trauma-informed lens.
There is an information session to start the project on
November 1 from 4-5 PM.

Who: Individuals are eligible to participate in this study if they:
- Are over 18 years old
- Are enrolled in an in-person program at a Temple University campus in Philadelphia
What: Completion of a one-week photography activity to document spaces that are trauma-informed on campus and spaces that could benefit from being looked at with a more trauma-informed lens. Participants will then be asked to upload 5 of these photographs to an online survey and will reflect and share their perspectives on how to improve the campus environment to support the wellbeing of all students.
Where: Participants will be asked to take photographs on any of Temple University’s campuses in Philadelphia (Main campus, Health Sciences Campus, Ambler Campus). Anyone with the link can upload these photographs to the survey on their personal computer.
When: This study will take place from September-December 2022.
Why: The purpose of this study is to understand student perspectives of trauma-informed spaces on campus as well as spaces on campus that could benefit from being looked at through a more trauma-informed lens. This will allow us to identify problematic areas on campus and spaces that should be targeted for renovations/ improvement to enhance the wellbeing of all users of the space.
