On February 2 at 6:00pm Temple Libraries will be screening a collection of clips of North Philadelphia from our archives. I encourage you to share this with your incoming students, past students, colleagues, and anyone else you think would enjoy learning a little more about the area surrounding Temple’s main campus.
We're kicking off our yearlong tribute to North Philly with a screening of recent discoveries and gems from the archives. This program will feature WFIL/WPVI and KYW/CBS3 news footage from our Special Collections Research Center and a behind-the-scenes commentary with Archivist John Pettit.
Among the highlights:
- Martin Luther King, Jr. speaking at Baptist Temple, CBS3/KYW, 1965
- Joe Frazier training, CBS3/KYW, 1966
- A Black Power rally at the Church of the Advocate, CBS3/KYW, 1966
- And more!
This program will be presented via Zoom Webinar. On the day of the program, use this link to join: https://temple.zoom.us/j/95258094016
All programs are free and open to all, and registration is encouraged.
