I'm contacting you on behalf of Temple UMR (United Muslim Relief), a humanitarian organization on Temple's campus, and OAS (Organization of African Students), an organization working to promote African political and social awareness in the community. We are hosting a black-tie banquet on Sunday, April 15th at 6 PM to raise awareness for the maternal healthcare crisis taking place in Nigeria. Every 13 minutes, one Nigerian woman dies from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth. This event will be an educational and cultural experience including an authentic Nigerian dinner, cultural performances, and keynote speaker Dr. Molefi Asante.
As part of the event, we will have an art gallery consisting of donated art pieces that will be auctioned off. Any and all types of art pieces will be accepted. All funds raised will be donated to support the maternal healthcare crisis in Nigeria.
I was wondering if you'd be able to share this information with your students and other faculty members who might be interested in donating an art piece for the cause. I've attached a flyer with the basic information, as well as the facebook event page and ticket links for anyone who's interested in attending the banquet.
Let me know what you think and if you have any questions!
